Big Bear City Cabin Rental
Big Bear Reset is minutes from Big Bear City — the valley's lived-in local side, with hometown diners, gear shops, and easy winter access.
Ask a local where they actually eat, shop, and get their truck fixed, and they'll point you east — to Big Bear City. It shares the valley with Big Bear Lake but keeps its own unhurried, lived-in character: Big Bear Boulevard lined with diners, bakeries, gear shops, and old-school mountain businesses, without the tourist-trap gloss.
The practical side of the mountain
Big Bear City is also the sensible side. Big Bear City Airport sits right in town — general aviation, and genuinely fun to watch small planes drop over the ridge on final approach. In winter, the east entrance via Highway 18 through Lucerne Valley is many drivers' preferred route up the mountain, and Big Bear City is the first real town you reach: groceries, gas, and a hot meal before the final climb.
Eat like a local
The Boulevard holds some of the valley's most-loved breakfast spots and BBQ joints, and on a busy Saturday you'll wait half as long as you would in the Village. It's also the gateway to the east valley — the quiet meadows around Baldwin Lake, Pacific Crest Trail access points, and some of the darkest night skies in the San Bernardinos for stargazing.
The winter way in
Regulars know the east route. When storms roll through, Highway 18 from Lucerne Valley into Big Bear City is often the calmer, lower-stress climb compared to the front side — and Big Bear City is where you stage: top off the tank, grab chains if you need them, stock the cooler. By the time you roll into Moonridge and Big Bear Reset, the trip already feels like vacation.
Summer on the east side
Summer flips the script: the east valley's meadows and forest roads become hiking and mountain-biking country, Baldwin Lake draws birders and photographers, and Big Bear City's local events give you a taste of mountain-town life without the tourist crush. Warm days, cool pines, and a hot tub waiting back at the cabin.
Close to it all
From Big Bear City, the whole valley fans out in front of you: about 10–15 minutes west on Big Bear Boulevard puts you at Big Bear Reset in Moonridge — close enough to dip into the local scene whenever you like, far enough to sleep under silent pines with the hot tub steaming.
Stay at Big Bear Reset
